We had fun carving our pumpkins this year. My Grammy Wood came up to help us with the carving and my mom used a program to create the templates that we used to mark our pumpkins with.
My brother had fun making a big mess with the yucky pumpkin stuff. He splattered it all over the walls and the floor. My mom and Grammy weren’t very happy and it’s a good thing my dad was at work or he would have really been mad if he saw the huge mess that was everywhere.
After the mess was cleaned up my Mom and Grammy helped cut out the designs, which took forever. When we finished we put candles inside of them and brought them into our bathroom where we put the shade down to make it dark so we could see how they looked. It was still day time, that’s why we had to put the shade down.
My Mom took these pictures and here is another one showing what they look like lit up.

She couldn’t get the flames shooting out of the top like last years picture. I wish she could figure out how she made that picture do that – it was really cool.
I like cats and I’m not sure if you can tell but that’s what that is above my name on my pumpkin. I really have a lot of fun making the pumpkins. I don’t like to clean them out but making the faces is fun.
Your Grammy must be pretty smart!
Dearest Lucien,
Thank you so much for sharing your website with me. I enjoy reading your adventures with the racoon, your kitty, and the pumpkins. It sounds like you enjoy all sorts of things.
I haven’t done pumpkins for a long time. But Clara,Robert, and Billy, your cousins, love to carve them. There is a book that you can buy that gives you all sorts of designs to draw on your pumpkins, then you carve them out. I love your pumpkin with your name on it.It really shows up in the dark. Were you afraid when Mom lit the candles? You are a very BRAVE boy! Love you lots, Grandma Wright
